WORD FROM THE SENIOR SERVICES COORDINATOR
Stop me if I told you this story before... I know it’s my annual tradition. At the end of each year my mother would empty her purse and proudly proclaim how much money we had. It rarely broke $2.00. Today I am proud to announce $3.25, some lint, a hearing aid battery and a piece of used tape. As I always saw it, the New Year is an opportunity to take stock of your achievements through the year. Personally I understand the $3.25 in its most simple term of money spent and effort given. Lint the by-product of effort, wash and wear, the hearing aid battery a sign of age, and the tape helps keeps it all together. It is all good because the Orange Senior Center is a great place to come and start the New Year out right. AARP Tax and Pasta Festa will return. This month we will have Wheel of Fortune as a sign of the great things to come! :)
With the colder months coming, it is time to review the Inclement Weather Policy. Classes are canceled when the Orange School System closes due to weather. If there is a school delay then only those classes during the delay are canceled. WTNH 8 is the official station for weather cancelations. If you have any questions regarding the Senior Center Class policy please feel free to contact the Senior Center at (203) 891-4784.
