1. Can you pay your bill with a credit or debit card?

Yes, Online only. We do not take credit or debit card in the office.  

2. Is my tax information available online?

https://www.mytaxbill.org/inet/bill/home.do?town=orange Yes, Tax information on real estate, Personal Property and Registered Motor Vehicles in a taxpayer name only.  You can not look up leased vehicles at this time.  Please call the Tax Collectors Office for information.  

3. What are the Tax department hours of operation?

General Services: 8:30am -12:00pm; 1:00pm -4:30pm

Window Payment Services: 8:30am -12:00pm; 1pm-4:00pm 

(staffing permitting, 2 staff members required)

 

NON- Window Payments by check only: 8:30 - 4:30 

(use Mail slot in the office) No third party Checks!

4. Are there fees associated with making an online payment?

Yes, the fees are as follows:

                             Credit Card   2.5%

                             Visa Debit    $3.95

                             E-Check      $2.00 up to $10,000.00

                                               $10.00 over $10,000.00

5. When paying by check, whom do I make the check out to?

Tax Collector or Tax Collector Town of Orange.

6. What if I no longer have a vehicle I am being taxed on?

You will need to contact the Assessors Office.  

7. Does the Orange Tax Office provide same day release for late Motor Vehicle payments?

No, Same day release is not offered as a current service. Cash payments are electronically processed overnight and the release should occur the next day. All other forms of payment may have up to an 11-day period before clearing DMV Holds.
