It is against state regulations to mix recyclables with disposal waste.
- All recyclables are to be separated and either put in the blue bins at curbside or taken to the transfer station and deposited in bins marked for recyclables, as posted at the station.
- If this is not done, the town may be cited with penalties.
- For what is considered recyclable, refer to the CRRA Recycling Information effective July 1, 2011 (PDF)
All organization, school, and commercial site recyclables are not allowed at curbside. Arrangements for their proper disposal must be handled by private haulers.
Effective October 1, 2009, the Bottle Bill was expanded to include non-carbonated water up to 3 liters in size with a 5-cent redemption value. Redeem at the local store that sold the container.
